Ministry Calling: From early years through high school, my goal was to become a veterinarian. At the same time, I carried the reoccurring thought that God was calling me to serve as a missionary or in some ministry capacity. I tried to satisfy that nagging thought and make a deal with God by changing my college plans to attend Samford University, a Baptist institution, instead of Auburn University where I planned to study veterinarian medicine. There I could pursue a degree in religious journalism. That plan lasted one miserable semester at which time I finally committed to God that I would do whatever He asked me to do. The result was God’s peace and His direction through the years to bring me to the place I now serve. He has proved faithful at every step and I am thankful that He has brought me to where I am today and I look forward to what lies ahead.
What I Enjoy About Serving at AMBC: This is a church that loves the pastor and staff and gives us all the freedom to lead in the direction we believe God has given us to go. There is a spirit of love and warmth here that is incredible.
My Relationship with Christ: I gave my life to Christ as a young boy and experienced a great desire to grow in that relationship at different times in the years that followed – especially as God began to work in some specific ways during my senior year of high school. But it wasn’t until I reached college that someone helped me know how to spend time each day in God’s Word and prayer and to walk in fellowship with Him as I got to know and love Him more deeply and consistently. Today, more than anything else in life, I want my life to honor Christ.
